There are two versions of the generator that are not interchangeable. This CDI unit is for early generators have a single white/red wire from the pulser. If yours has a white/red and a white/green wire you need CDi unit with our p/n: ‘MX1’.

A new CDi unit is only one part of the ignition system, so if a brand new ‘plug-in’ CDi unit does not fix, or changes the symptoms then your next action is to consider other parts in the system that may need to be replaced or repaired to clear the problem, especially where that system is over 20 years old. You can be sure that the issue will be found in an old part you have not yet replaced.
