Roadster Kit (RMK6-12V) – 12 volt electronic ignition for DT250 twin shock models A – C 1974 to 1976

Roadster kits are designed for effortless installation. No timing setup, no strobe lamp required—just bolt on and plug directly into the standard factory wiring loom.

Our enhanced 12V lighting, seamlessly integrates into the bike’s electrical system, giving brighter a headlamp and more realible indicators, there’s also no need to modify wiring, plugs or switches*

We believe that our kits are among the easiest to fit, needing only basic tools (just remember to have a flywheel puller on hand!).

Requires flywheel number FOTO1971. It is vital that you check the flywheel number BEFORE ordering. Mistakes are expensive to rectify

*Assumes wiring is the factory orginal, please be aware some markets may have minor variations that may need a minor alteration, although this is rare.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

– Do I have to have a battery? No, the battery can be deleted using a battery eliminator. IMPORTANT: without a battery the lights will flicker with the engine at idle, also the horn and indicators may not work at low revs. Once over 2,500 RPM everything works as normal. Some Countries require the lights to operate without the engine running, this cannot happen without a battery. Remember you could be left in complete darkness at night without a battery if the engine stops. We recommend that you fit and use a battery, but if you accept the limitations, we can supply a Battery Eliminator (battery delete).

-Can I ‘Delete’ the charging system? Yes our Race system comes as in “Ignition Only’ option without 12V lighting or charging therefore the charging section is deleted.

-I’m not sure what 12volt parts I require – We have complete 12 volt accessory packs, and can advise if you still are not sure. Export packs come without a battery. Battery Delete versions have the correct battery eliminator.

Do I need to check my headlamp bulb – Yes we are not able to confirm what you have. Our experience is that in a very high number of cases the bulb is not what ‘should’ be fitted, so yes please remove the bulb and send us a photo if you are not sure which kind it is.

-Can I change the fixed timing Roadster in to an adjustable Race version? Yes at time of order it is simple, order the version you would like. If you  already have a roadster kit fitted and you want it changed so it is adjustable there are two option: either machine the stator yourself with adjustment slots, or return the kit to us. We charge a fee of one hour at our standard workshop rates plus parts for this service.

-Can I add  Charging & Light to an Ignition only Race system? Yes usually this can be done, we charge one hour at our standard workshop rate plus parts.

-What If I have problems? As the system designer and manufacturer, our customers can have full confidence that most issues can be easily resolved with our expertise. This gives reassurance, as with older motorcycles, things may not always be as expected.
